How to Use This Guide

back to Product Selection

Sartomer's Product Selection Guide will point you toward Sartomer products that best suit your unique application. The Product Selection Guide, or PSG, takes 4 steps, as described below. Since the PSG opened in a new browser window when you clicked on the link, you can always return to the main Sartomer website by clicking back on the original window.

And as you move through the guide, a "breadcrumb" path at the top of the page will trace your progress:

At any point, you can click on the links in this path and return to a previous step.

To get product information faster, you can also enter any part of a product name or code into the "Find a Product" search box at the top of the page. If we can match what you've entered in the search box with one of our products, we'll show you that product's detail. If we can't be that specific, we'll present you with a list of products that closely match your search term(s).

Step 1: Click on application of interest.
Select your application. Where and how do you expect to use a product? Some general applications, such as Coatings, are broken down into subcategories; these categories are identified by a triangle icon triangle alongside the name. Click on the general application name to see its subcategories. Select an application by clicking on its name.

Step 2: Applicable Product Line(s).
Select a product line. Our products are organized by Product Line (Monomers, for example) and then by Product Line Subgroup (Monofunctional Monomers). The page you see in Step 2 shows a list of Sartomer Product Lines, with a brief description of each Line, and a list of Line Subgroups which perform well in the application you selected in Step 1. It's likely that not ALL a Line's Subgroups will match your application, and on this page we'll show you only the Subgroups that do.

Click on a Line or Subgroup to see a list of individual products!

Step 3: Applicable Products.
Compare properties ratings, and select a product to see its detail. Step 3 is the penultimate step in your product search, showing a list of products well-suited to your application. This products list also rates each product for certain properties associated with its Product Line - useful if, for instance, you're looking for a Coatings product with good weatherability properties. A square icon in the property column indicates the product's favorability for that condition. You can sort the products list by property by clicking the "sort" link under the individual property's name.

Click on the "printer-friendly version" feature in the upper right of this page for a page showing only your applicable products and their property ratings.

Go to the final step, Product Detail, by selecting a chemical name or product code.

Step 4: Product Detail
This page shows the product description and chemical structure of your selected product, and provides links to associated MSDS, datasheets and other technical literature. Technical literature usually appears in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. If you don't have Acrobat Reader, you can download the latest version.

Remember, you can always take a step or two back in your discovery process by clicking on links in the breadcrumb navigation at the top of the page!
