Sartomer's behavior relative to its stakeholders (suppliers,
customers, employees, communities, and the environment) is guided by
the Sartomer Operating
Philosophy. The level of success in implementing the
Philosophy's 15 directives, is assessed internally by a family of
Key Measures. The Measures are regularly reviewed by
Sartomer's executive management, and this review process results in
improvement plans.
To provide an independent view, Sartomer's parent company, Total, has implemented a rigorous, third party assessment
process to determine how well its worldwide units are performing
relative to the corporate principles and rules of behavior toward
stakeholders. The Good Corporation, a British firm
specializing in corporate responsibility issues, was selected to
perform these assessments. Sartomer, including its
stakeholders, was one of the first units to be assessed.
Sartomer's results when compared to a group of Total units
were outstanding. To see the Executive Summary for Sartomer's
assessment, including the comparison to other Total units,
